Arkade Kal #1 Tryout

Parker just wanted to play the fighting game.
The Kalon had been waiting years for the newest arcade edition of Shine Fighters. It allowed anyone who played it to attach their own custom controller so that they could really give the game their all. And this worked very well for Parker, as he really did need a custom controller. Despite being as tall as he was (he stood a little over 6 feet), the Kalon was cursed with tiny, almost childlike hands. As he approached the arcade game, he noticed that another Kalon had stepped forward to be the player to. As Parker clutched his bag, he grew nervous.
"Oh hey! I'm Ari; are you gonna play too?" the Kalon asked. She certainly seemed nice enough.
"Oh, uh, yeah! I hope that's ok."
"That's fine," Ari assured him, smiling widely. "Did you bring your own controller?"
"Yeah, actually...?"
"Do you mind if I see? Actually, do you mind showing my subscribers? I run a gaming YouTube channel, but you can say no, it's ok."
"Th-that's fine!" Parker spluttered, opening his bag. He pulled out a very, very small controller, modeled after a SNES controller and just the right size for his small hands. He expected Ari to say something mean about it, but when he looked at her face she just seemed fascinated.
"That is so cool," Ari said with gleaming eyes, pointing her camera at it. "What do you guys think? Looks like a worthy opponent to me!"
Parker breathed a sigh of relief, happy that Ari hadn't said anything about his small hands. It was often a source of embarrassment for him, but as he chose his character, he didn't feel uncomfortable at all.
